![]() Dawn of War and Company of Heroes are clearly modernizations of the Dune 2 formula (and of each other), yet they bring enough new to the table that barely anyone compares their design to their predecessors. "Modernization" and innovation (or "inventiveness" - if that's not a word I play the "english is not my first language card) aren't mutually exclusive. Either way, I definitely think that Homeworld shares more in common with the 2000s breed of RTS than the 90s, that's why I included it. If that's not good enough, than just append a 2, it released on 2003. Homeworld released on September 28, 1999. Plus I dont have to game everyday, whenever those monster PS4/5 games come out is at about the right frequency for a working man, and they have a ending, you finish them like a good Netflix/HBO series and get on with it. Single player is where its at for me now a days, and well God of War and stuff like that is only on PlayStation. So more or less, multiplayer has lost it's appeal for me. Fucking gained tons of different insights and perspectives from people I would never ever have spoken to otherwise. Whereas Bad Company 2 (vent server), Counter-Strike, SOCOM on PS2 and Halo 2 it was just chill vibes hanging out gaming online. I haven't had a random conversation with a stranger I gamed with in years, let alone add one to my friends list. I rather the "clubhouse" experience of joining a familiar Counter Striker server, with admins and open voice chat and feels like a bunch of people hanging out for a while, with admins switching from competitive game, to a gun game, to a surf map, to some crazy zombie mod with jank and you actually made long time gaming friends through it. But it doesn't happen anymore, and I'm not interested in matchmaking grindy multiplayer. Plus for all the hate these cinematic PlayStation games get, I love them, they're fun and tell more intriguing stories than a lot of shit, plus whoever is around, dad, bro, lady whatever hangouts out with me while playing Red Dead 2 or whatever - which is always great, and it's just plug and play.ĭo I miss the days of absolute monster PC exclusives like Crysis, Half Life and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., yep. I'm at a desk all day at work, I don't really want to be in one at home, rather rest my back down on the couch. I'm OCD as fuck so this shit is kind of fun to me doing a fresh PC install, and tweaking and shit - but it's not gaming. Just hear me out - I have a PC, decked out with a 3080, I just spent all Sunday reformating it and installing everything updating drivers and shit cause some piece of crap ASUS mobo software broke. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits. ![]() /r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
